The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is currently conducting a General Re-evaluation Study on the Mamaroneck-Sheldrake Rivers Basin in the Village of Mamaroneck, New York. This study is to re-evaluate the plan authorized by Congress in the Water Resources Development Act of 1986 and the design as detailed in the General Design Memorandum of 1989.
This re-evaluation study is required because considerable engineering, hydrological, hydraulic, economic and environmental data has changed in the basin in the last 20-30 years. The Study will be completed in 2016 with a General Re-evaluation Report (GRR) that will be submitted to Congress.
The Study is being cost shared between the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (75%) and the contributing non-Federal sponsors (25%): New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (NYSDEC) and Westchester County Department of Planning.
